My experience with work at home scams

I would’ve visited hundreds of sites looking for work at home options. They boast of free work options and later ask for payment. Only towards the end of the registration process or when we collect detailed information, we would come across the money part involved in it – either a service charge or a registration fee or initial deposit…..

It was four years back, I saw an ad for a similar work at home service provider and applied for the work by paying Rs.800/Rs.850.they sent me a list of links, which were meant for only US residents or did not provided work to Asia region. The work involved too is like….. click on ads, paid to read mails, paid to click, paid to play, paid survey, etc.

Most of the sites, I felt were not genuine. I never got a single paisa from that work option. Some sites advertise that it is open to international members, but when one registers and starts the work will know that most of the earning options are not available to them. In a way, its cheating. And some sites send cookies and viruses to your system and disable various functions or tracks down the passwords and other personal information.

After that I would’ve called up and checked numerous sites claiming to provide a reliable and good work at home opportunity. But they all ask for initial money/deposit and nobody guarantees a “pucca” earning. My experience had been bad.

At last I came across some genuine sites and jobs. During the search, I learnt a lot.Now I have an online tutoring work, I have two blogs-one at rediffiland and the other http://momslink.blogspot.com , and I also write for another employer. I’m happy with my current occupation. I am enjoying blogging.

In the coming series, we will see the various work at home options, whether they are genuine ….

There are thousands of ways to earn online

There are thousands of ways to earn by working online. It will take you days or even months to keep looking out for a home based job which really works for you and in the process you might get frustrated halfway and give up the whole process. I too have gone through the same phase but never loosen my heart, which finally paid up. I have spent lots of money in that process, read lots of articles and tried out all the ways I came to know about. I have spent lots of sleepless and frustrated nights and almost gave up. But, once it started working, I never looked back.

A home based work has no FAST and EASY money for sure.

You need to have patience. Without the correct knowledge you will waste precious time and money. If you are on the right track, you reach faster to your goal. Approaching any available programs on home based business or earning online is not the right way to start with. You might land up into something which won’t motive you.

What you would like to do is a very important factor of success. If you work on something you are passionate about, you will have fun and the motivation to do it. Look for business where your passion is. The key to earning online is knowing how and where to start. Earning online or a home based business is not as easy as it sounds. It is again not as difficult as you believe.

If you really want to generate true earning online and looking for financial freedom working from home, you have to do something different. Earlier you start, faster you reach to your goal.

My Fight

Though I was always a school topper and excellent in academics and extra- academics, I couldn’t get a good job. I couldn’t make a career till now. Worse - my relationship with my in-laws became sour over unintentional matters. I remain depressed and unhappy. I felt insecure and unsettled. There were few moments of happiness in my life.

There was nobody to guide me properly. I wish there was somebody who could’ve shown me the right path- in higher studies, in career……..I thought marrying an unknown person will be difficult or rather impossible. Then I married a person whom I knew. But his mother’s insecurity or ego or whatever complex/ problem that was, ruined our happiness and camaradie and changed our relationship altogether. All these instances left a scar on my psyche.

My mother in law made some accusations which was beyond my imagination. Not even my husband would believe what I had to tell. I couldn’t prove the truth. I lost interest in myself, I lost confidence, I became a wreck. My self esteem nose dived. I couldn’t take it anymore, I started loosing my patience. I started feeling guilty about the marriage, my actions…. I even contemplated suicide.

I badly wanted to seek a psychiatric help, but my husband opposed it. There was nobody to whom I could confide in other than my parents. Since I didn’t want them to worry about me beyond a limit, I restrained myself from telling everything. I could only pray and seek God’s help. I practiced meditation at home. Slowly, with my husband’s help, started believing in myself. He counseled me and supported me. I started taking interest in hobbies. And I think it is working. My life is on its path to changing. I am gaining confidence. The situations around me are still gloom. But I’m trying to view it differently.

When you want something to happen strongly, the universal forces will see that it happens. Perhaps, that is what we call The Almighty, The God. Today, I’m successfully fighting depression after 4 years. My husband is right in saying, there is solution to all the problems, and if you feel something cannot be resolved, just leave it to time ….We are not the only one to experience it like this…..there are others whose experiences are much worser than you. You have to find the solution to your problem. You alone can fight depression out of your mind.

Everything about Online Tutoring

What is Online Tutoring?
Online tutoring is the use of the Internet for tutoring activities. It is the process by which a student learns via the Internet with the help of a subject matter expert or a tutor. This type of tutoring can make use of several web-based programs to achieve its goals. Some of these programs or applications are email, an instant messaging, online whiteboards, etc. Online tutoring is most effective when voice, video, graphics, and text can all be used at the same time. Through these programs or applications a tutor can send quizzes, receive accomplished exams, send quiz results and recommendations, teach concepts, help/clarify with confusing part of a topic/text, solve problems, help or advice on assignments or homework, assist in applying concepts, etc. Moreover, with online tutoring, students can learn at their own pace and from the comfort of their homes.

Online tutoring can be applied to students of all levels that is from 1st grade to college and further. Parents/students register with a tutoring company and choose one of the several packages on offer. Students can thereafter schedule their classes entirely as per their convenience. The sessions can be held 24/7 basis. There are monthly payments and hourly payment work options. In case, the student is not satisfied with your session, some tutoring companies promises to return the money what you have charged from them.

Requirements for Online Tutoring
For online tutoring, a broadband connection with a minimum speed of 128 kilobytes per second is prescribed. This will ensure that the tutoring process will be smooth. A headset containing a microphone and a speaker to be used in conjunction with voice chat applications is also required. An online whiteboard or a shared screen where the lesson will be posted and discussed and a web camera for videos are also necessary.
Being a tutor requires special knowledge and skills in the subject of your interest. Tutors' are typically post-graduates/ doctorates/ graduates with tutoring experience. All prospective tutors are tested for subject knowledge, IQ and EQ. One need to be sensitive to the intellectual and emotional needs of your student(s). Excellent oral and interpersonal communications, adhering to the time schedule, performing duties in a professional and responsible manner, good English, are other requirements most of the tutoring companies look for.

Some companies offer rigorous training and certification process to become certified tutors. All teachers also undergo extensive third party background checks before being recruited. Tutors get rating from their students and those with lower ratings get self-selected out from the system.

Online tutoring subjects
Tutors to cover from pre-school to beyond University. Online tutoring opportunities exist at age 4 and upwards across all primary, SATS, 11+, GCSE, Scottish Standard Grade, AS-A-levels, Highers, Special Needs and all school or college levels, HNC, HND, TEC, Degree, Professional Exams, PhD, Adult learners - all ages and levels. Tuition fees
Tuition fees vary according to factors like Level being tutored - eg GCSE, Degree etc, Number of students being tutored, Location (some agencies charge different fees for different parts of the country), Subject, Method of delivery, Sitting of lessons, - ie whether the tutor must travel or not and Contractual structure - it can be a bit dearer to go via an agency but there should be more back-up and less administrative work for the client this way.
Pros and Cons
For the tutor, the pros are many:
Online tutors can work from any location equipped with an Internet connection, and at any time of the day or night.
Online tutoring means adding another string to your bow as a teacher -as the Internet becomes increasingly omnipresent, and the demand for online study grows, so will the demand for trained and experienced online tutors.
And of course, for any teacher, learning new skills and developing oneself professionally is usually a hugely rewarding experience.
As for cons, the few negatives:
One is the amount of time that online tutoring takes up, not only in providing constant learner support and feedback, but in designing new materials for online delivery if you do not already have these ready.
Another negative is that institutions who implement e-learning often see it as the economical alternative to face to face teaching, and underestimate the amount of hours that an online tutor will need to put in to run a successful online course and underpay them.
Tips for online tutors
Get some qualifications: There are a few organisations offering online tutor training courses, and experiencing an online course yourself can really help you become a good online tutor.
Get more IT training: You will need to be able to answer technical questions and general Internet questions, as well as course-related queries. Be prepared for this.
Never assume anything: First-time online participants will need plenty of support, encouragement and motivational input. Drop out rates for online courses tend to be quite high.
Create the right environment: Spend time on socialisation and group dynamic. An online course will wither and die without it.
Deal with problems overtly: Encourage open discussion of ongoing problems and issues in your online group - be proactive. Set a few simple rules, establish terms/ times of your availability during the course.
Develop participant skills: Work with your learners to explore how knowledge is constructed, assimilated and dealt with online. Help them to gain the skills they need to get the most out of the course.
Reflect and revise: Each course you run will flag up problems, issues and potential for improvement. Listen to your participant feedback and be open to incorporating the best of it into future versions of your courses.

Lunchbox Ideas

Some suggestions to get your child to eat healthy, even while at school

Lunchtime is short and most kids are choosy and slow. To ensure your child eats the lunch you send, pack something what he/she likes without compromising on the nutrition. Give them the choice of selection too. You can ask what he/she would like for lunch. Provide variety to avoid boredom.

You can make stuffed chapattis with carrot, aloo, beetroot, radish, methi leaves, mixed vegetables, etc. Stuffed chapattis with carrot and beetroot can be made sweeter by adding little sugar to the grated vegetable. Another option is parathas, stuffed dosas and stuffed idlis. Chapatti and dosa wraps with vegetable mix will also work well as lunch for kids. You can try making dosas and chapattis in some shapes /forms (alphabets, numbers, fruits, animals, cartoons, etc) according to your child’s liking and your imagination.

Fried rice, tomato rice, lime rice, peas pulao, egg pulao, veg pulao are other options that you can try. Noodles enriched with veggies and /or egg or even rice semolina (iddiappam) with some vegetables can make another option for the small containers. You can make mini pizzas with lots of vegetables. There are lots of options in sandwich. Bread can be white, brown, stuffed, herbed and so on.

Offering cut pieces of fruits and vegetables and nuts are not only easy but are nutritious too. Cut fruits can be dipped in sauce, chocolate, cheese, peanut butter, yogurt, cream, etc and can be dipped finally with some dried items like raisins, bread crumbs, cracker crumbs, sugar, grated parmesan, or grated mozzarella. Turn vegetables and fruits into surprise packages by hollowing it and replacing them with fillings and putting the halves back together again. Chocolate spread, chocolate chips, cream cheese, processed cheese, peanut butter, jam, small fresh fruits, etc can be used as fillers.

You can also opt for colour or shape or size theme options in food for each day. Give your meal planning creativity a boost and feed your child’s stomach by planning his lunch box according to food groups and shapes, sizes, colour and so forth. Include nutritious and child- friendly combinations. You can also try math meal – 1 sandwich, 2 pieces of carrot, 3 sausages, and so on. Alphabet cookie cutters come handy in cutting bread, cheese, fruits, etc.

Overall appearance, colour, aroma, taste, texture and seasonings should be appealing to the kids. Focus on foods that your child should eat such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat, poultry, legumes and whole grains, rather than what foods to avoid because they are bad for them. When it comes to sweets and other less nutritious foods, it's natural for kids to desire salty, fatty, or sugary food that possesses few redeeming qualities. Occasionally giving in to a request for such items will not destroy your efforts to get your child to eat healthfully in the long term.

Kids don't always abide by an adult's schedule; they eat when they are hungry. Children eat only until they are satisfied. Preschoolers are pretty good at self-regulating their intake when left to their own. That's why parents who insist that preschoolers clean their lunch boxes are inviting trouble. If it makes you feel better to see a clean lunch box, offer very small portions to increase the likelihood that no food will go to waste. There is another approach you can take, however. You could respect your child's hunger level and excuse them from eating when they tell you they are full, regardless of what food is left behind.
